Responsibilities
The Communications Division is a vital link in Glenpool's emergency operations. It is staffed with nine full-time telecommunication officers who are responsible for the radio operations of the police, fire and medical services within the community, serve as jailers, provide records service and serve as 911 operators for the area.
Certification & Qualifications
All Communication Officers are required to maintain an annual jailer certification and within the first year of employment attend and pass a state forty-hour certification class for telecommunications. Qualifications for a telecommunications officer are a high school diploma or equivalent, the ability to multi-task well and the ability to work directly with the public.
