Form of Government
The City of Glenpool is governed by a statutory council-manager form of government. This form of government allows elected leaders to concentrate on the strategic priorities and goals of the community, without the distractions of day-to-day governmental operations.
The five council members of Glenpool’s City Council includes four members who represent specific wards and one who is elected at large. The Mayor and Vice-Mayor positions will be chosen by the Council members from amongst themselves during the first meeting after each council election.
Additionally, the five council members will hire a professional as City Manager to oversee all day-to-day operations of the City, including the hiring and management of all other City employees.
Additionally, the City of Glenpool is the legal beneficiary of several Title 62 trusts:
· Glenpool Utility Services Authority
· Glenpool Industrial Authority
· Glenpool Cemetery Trust Authority
The City Council serves as the board members for each of these trust authorities based on the rules established by the trust documents.
