Growing in Glenpool; Seeking Partnerships with Business

During the last half of 2007 and throughout 2008, as the economy slowed and then real crisis set in across the global economy, the Tulsa, Oklahoma suburb of Glenpool continued to grow, adding both new residents and new retail businesses. For 2008, total retail sales in the City of Glenpool grew from nearly $21 million to nearly $44 million. In residential construction, $36,834,295.00 in new home building permits were issued by the city between 2007 and 2008. Benefitting from its location on US HWY 75 and from Tulsa's continued march southward, Glenpool is the scene of Tulsa's largest new suburban development currently under construction or with already open businesses, at 121st Street South and HWY 75.

Anchored by Oklahoma’s largest WalMart Supercenter plus in-line retail and national restaurants such as Santa Fe Cattle Company and IHOP, the 100+ acre development also features a Holiday Inn Express, another hotel, medical, office and bank users plus a 60,000 sq. ft. three-story combined municipal building and conference/event center under construction.

Additional businesses coming to other locations in Glenpool include Tractor Supply Company and a planned Drug Warehouse.
